Applicant Criteria:

  1. Need for safe, affordable housing - Applicants may be dealing with substandard housing that is poorly built, damaged or inadequate; rent or mortgage that’s greater than 30% of their gross monthly income; unhealthy living conditions such as homes with mold and asthma triggers; or a home that is inaccessible for their disabilities.

  2. Ability to pay for a Habitat mortgage - Applicants must have a gross annual income that falls within the income levels set forth by HUD (see image below). Habitat ensures that the monthly mortgage payments do not exceed 30% of the homebuyer’s gross monthly income at closing.

  3. Willingness to partner with Habitat - Once selected, homebuyers must partner with Habitat throughout the process.

Application

  1. Please print and return to GLHFH with the credit check fee. Our address is on the paperwork. You may deliver a hard copy by mail or in person. We do not accept digital copies. 

  2. The credit check fee is $25 per applicant. Cash, check, or money order are accepted. To use a credit/debit card, pay in-person at the store.

  3. ​Hard copies of the application are available at the ReStore. We are open Tues, Fri, & Sat from 9-4 and Wed-Thurs from 9-1.

  4. Deadline is March 31st.

  5. ​Please respect this property by only driving by. No trespassing. Note that we will show the home to families who meet the criteria in this application.

Home Interest Meetings

Attend a Home Interest meeting to learn about GLHFH's Path to Homeownership program and if it's the right fit for you.

Pick the date/time that works for you. In-person meetings will be held at the ReStore at 335 Rose Street, Williamsport. Those attending the virtual meeting will receive a sign-on link.
